A calendar visual shows date-based records the way people already read a diary: a month, week or day grid with an event in each cell. A table of bookings with start and end dates holds the same rows, but the busy weeks, the double bookings and the free slots only appear once the rows are laid out on a grid.
The Calendar for Power BI takes a Start Date, an optional End Date and an Event Title, colours events by Category, and can open a Detail URL when someone clicks one. Clicking an event cross-filters the rest of the page, and slicers on the page filter the calendar in turn.
It serves as an event calendar, a schedule view or a booking calendar; the fields you bind decide which.
